Donate to my journey and help me change the world!
The Weekend to End Women's Cancers benefiting the Queensland Institute of Medical Research (QIMR) and Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH) is a 2-day, 60-kilometre walk through the neighbourhoods of Brisbane. It's going to be a challenge, but I'm ready to do something bold and powerful in effort to end women's cancers once and for all. I completed the 2013 challenge, raised $4002, thank you to everyone that contributed. Now to get started for 2014!
My daughter is my inspiration, I want her to grow up in a world where where there is effective treatments and great early detection methods. My Aunt was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 1992, she went through treatments, operations and remission periods. Unfortunately, she passed away ten years after the diagnoses. More recently, I have had a couple of friends diagnosed with breast cancer and going on their own journeys. All money that helps to towards research is needed. Funds raised this year helped purchase new equipment, attract new researchers and provide more care for women undergoing treatment.
Help me reach or beat my target for 2014, join me on the walk or volunteer as crew. I hope that my own daughter doesn't need to have this worry, that perhaps the research will provide faster detection methods or better recovery rates. I can walk, I can definitely manage the 60km over the weekend! I can raise funds to benefit the Queensland Institute of Medical Research (QIMR) and Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH) and their efforts to end women's cancers.
I ask you to take a stance with me and join this life-saving adventure for all women. Be a part of my very personal journey - by giving, by walking with me, or simply by sharing my story with your circle of influence. Don't stand back and think about what you could have done take that first step today! Take a chance with me we have the opportunity to change thousands of lives, beginning with our own.
This isn't just my journey it's yours, too.
One Weekend can change the world.
